A Message from our President:
Dear Families,
My name is Jenn Morrison. I am the President of Diamond Blackfan Anemia Canada (DBAC) and the mother of a transfusion dependent DBA child. I would like to warmly welcome you to the official site of Diamond Blackfan Anemia Canada. We are very excited to have you here and hope that we can help you by providing information, opportunities to meet and talk with other individuals and families affected by DBA and, of course, support you in any way that we can.
This foundation was started out of a need for Canadian individuals and families affected by DBA to have a resource which they can turn to for help . Diamond Blackfan Anemia (DBA) is an extremely rare, severe anemia of childhood for which there is no cure. It is estimated that there are only 25-30 new cases a year in the US and Canada. Our mission is to provide education, support and resources, as well as to help fund research of DBA. DBA Canada receives its support solely through donations and family fundraisers. We are a registered charity with the Canada Revenue Agency - registered charity number 806378659RR001.
Our Board of Directors consists of: myself, Jenn Morrison - President, Janet Pereira - Vice President and mom to a transfusion dependent child, Mallory Cunnington - Secretary and Media Contact, Alice Stelpstra - Treasurer
Our Medical Advisor is - Dr.Yigal Dror MD, FRCP(C) Division of Hematology/Oncology, The Hospital for Sick Children
It is our hope that together we will be able to support one another through the trials and celebrate the victories as one small, but strong, unit. Through tears and laughter we will persevere.

Thank you to all who helped in our dollar for dollar campaign. We were able to raise $3801.00 Our anonymous donor has also generously donated $5000 as a match. Our total raised was $8801.00
